Bohemian
Crystal Chandeliers
For over 250 years they
have been truly representative of the creative abilities,
originality, and traditional skills of the master artisan
craftsmen working with glass.
Historically,
the manufacture of crystal chandeliers in Bohemia is documented
throughout the last 250 years. It is based on a rich tradition
of glass and crystal making, working, designing, and finishing
that began to develop more than 500 years ago in the territory
of the former Kingdom of Bohemia.
Shortly
after the manufacture of complete Bohemian Crystal Chandeliers
had been started in the eighteenth century, they became highly
regarded and sought after as the decorative element and intrinsic
lighting sources of palaces, saloons, and other luxurious
interiors. They became a symbol of artistic discretion, good
taste, wealth, and nobility.
Bohemian
crystal chandeliers became an architectural part of every
representative interior. As it became apparent that a chandelier
need not serve merely for illumination, but also as an integrated
decorative element and, from the architectural viewpoint,
as a component, creating the atmosphere of an interior by
itself alone. Crystal chandeliers reigned, and still are supreme
due to their versatility, decorativeness, and general application.
From the time of their origin, they have survived and adapted
to all periods of architectural styles.
Nowadays,
exclusive Bohemian crystal chandeliers, in any of their styles,
forms, and sizes are ready to satisfy also all the needs and
requirements of modern, classical, or traditional architectural
requirements.
